Today we celebrate both birth and death.
On this day, 2 years ago, we lost one of the most brilliant, genius and iconic designers of all time, Lee Alexander McQueen. His talent was one of a kind, his work was more than just clothing, it was a statement, it was psychology, it was paradox, it was fantasy. The world of fashion is less without him. With his work, he left a trace that can never be washed away. With his death, he left a scar that will never heal. In our eyes he is immortal.
On this day, 1 year ago, the song Born This Way by Lady Gaga was released. When it comes to this song, charts, sales, critics, awards mean nothing. It is the work of not just one, but millions. It is a symbol of courage, love, freedom and acceptance. It represents both Lady Gaga’s influence on her fans, and Little Monsters’ influence on her. A unity so strong, it saves lives. A song so powerful, it inspires courage. A message so great, it gives hope.
